Finding Value in Space
Investment dollars are flowing into the space sector and frontier tech in general at a rapid pace. Check sizes, the number of deals, and the number of investors have all grown. Yet, most of these funds are flowing into 3-4 companies that have enjoyed the fame (or infamy) that comes with media coverage and publicity derived from founders/CEOs with star power, government backing, and other factors. The opportunity lies where others are NOT looking.
What is in the Opportunity Zone?
Companies in the opportunity zone are commercially viable, have great technology & IP, good go-to-market strategy, a solid team, but have lacked the publicity to attract their fair share of capital. This is where investors can find the startups that have made incredible progress while staying extremely capital efficient. This is where value will be created and captured and where MCV is a great partner in finding the right opportunities.
Are the popular companies not worth looking at?
They are. Publicity neither creates nor destroys intrinsic value. SpaceX is landing rockets while OneWeb crashed (and received a bail-out). However, they aren’t ideal for all investors, as significant future potential is already priced into their valuations, and they represent a small sliver of the frontier tech market.
The mission of MCV is to help you find the right opportunities in frontier tech for your investment strategy and your operations.
Experience shows that every organization has ample opportunities to shape how humans everywhere will live and work on Earth and beyond.
